It was the first time the Hartmans had a session with me and we had FUN! The kids were loving all the fun poses and running and playing. I was so happy to spend time with a family filled with so much joy!

Rachael and Daniel are counting down the days to their wedding day! They are currently in the process of planning their big day and marked another thing off their list: Engagement portraits!

Little RC was such a little ham during his session! Oh my goodness, this cutie loved playing in the studio and reading his little blue truck books! I’ve never seen a little one love a certain book so much! His mama thought it would be the perfect theme for his cake smash and first birthday portraits.

For years, I have heard senior clients and their parents say 'No, studio portraits for seniors are cheesy!'. I can agree that if done right, you can definitely get a 90's studio feel to images that are just not up to par. When Colleen came into my studio, I was determined to work with her to create a set of images that was more Vanity Fair, Rolling Stones, modern day celebrity photo shoot appeal. I wanted to show anyone in doubt of studio portraits that they do not have to be cheesy.
When Colleen came into my studio yesterday for her reveal, her reaction left me speechless. She kept commenting on how happy she was, recording the slideshow I had made for her on her phone, and afterwards gave me the most heartwarming hug that I really did need over a few bad days I was experiencing!
I hope to get to do more sessions like these. Allowing anyone to come in and have their portraits taken and feel like it's celebrity grade results.
Colleen, thank you for trusting me. Allowing me to dress you, choose colors, style and poses without a single doubt or question. You have been such a blessing. I can't wait to see you do great things sweetheart! <3
East Knox definitely has some major achievers on their hands! Mady and Ruth are not only celebrating the achievement of their high school diploma, they are also graduating with associates degrees! Yep! Isn't that incredible?!

It's only a few short weeks until Baby Porter arrives! I am beyond excited. From engagement, wedding and now to the days before welcoming their son I am extremely honored to get to be apart of all these memories. During this session, Mark said 'I love how excited you are about taking these pictures.' But how could I not be? Look at these two. They are just living out a real live love story that generations to come will hope for. <3
I think we might have broken a record for how many outfit changes can be done in a maternity session! haha Each outfit was beautiful on Chelsea. Two outfits were Chelsea's and the two long dresses are new additions to our client closet! :)
Chelsea is extremely excited to become a mother. In just a few short weeks, she is going to be a first time mom. When Chelsea talks about becoming a mom, she lights up!
I first met Mady and her family at one of my previous mini session specials. I am so happy to now get to photograph Mady's senior portraits. Mady is such a natural beauty! She has a kind spirit and is just so sweet. I adored getting to play up all of Mady's beautiful features. Her awesome curly hair, beautiful blue eyes... Ah! She is a natural model.
I think there is a stigma around high school. Most of us have lived through it, others are still making their journey living day by day while counting down the four years until graduation day. I listen to people and what they have to say and I heard a common issue about high school. The biggest complaint is exclusion.
You didn't make the team. You (for some awful reason) aren't liked by a certain group of friends at school. There are already too many people in that club you REALLY wanted to join.... There are too many opportunities to be excluded in high school.
I want to admit something and apologize. I created yet another opportunity for you to be excluded and felt like you weren't good enough. That was a very tragic mistake on my part. I started my senior model search this year and I sent out questionnaires to those who were interested and I felt sick to my stomach knowing I was going to exclude someone. I, myself, have lead a life of exclusion even to this very day. I couldn't bear the thought of choosing, of excluding. It's popular among the photography community to have senior reps or models so I always thought I NEEDED to have only a few but I was so wrong.
Our 2016 ENV Seniors
I considered not having any program for the class of 2017. Then again, I wanted to have something exciting for Seniors to be apart of. So I made a decision. I'm opening the door to all seniors to be apart of the ENV Seniors program. Instead of only a few seniors being apart of earning discounts, free sessions, prints, and gift cards I remembered that 'birds of a feather flock together' and there are MANY flocks in high school. Some are athletic, some are artistic, some just don't know who they are or what they want to do but everyone should have an opportunity. No more excluding. No more of making others feel like they are less.
So how does this work? Every Senior who books a session will receive a paper at their session with a list of what your referrals earn you. Refer one friend? You earn something. Refer FIVE friends... you earn something even better. You don't have to refer anyone, you don't have to participate BUT I feel like you deserve a thank you when you show your friends how ENV captured your personality and style.
Seniors are unique. They are always so excited about all the new opportunities ahead of them. Each one has a different plan for their life, a different style and personality to show off. I love capturing this time in their life and getting to give them something to look back on.

To add to Katie's already awesome senior portfolio, she also wanted some rustic fall images for her collection! Katie brought along her letterman jacket and FFA jacket. I think the blue of that FFA jacket is so flattering on her! Soon, Katie will be back for her cap and gown session. I can't believe she's almost done with her senior year! So crazy!
