Mount Vernon, Ohio / Columbus, Ohio Wedding Photographer || The Pickwick Place: Blade + Taylor

God favored this couple on Saturday! For an ENTIRE week, the forecast showed that Saturday would give us 80% chance of thunderstorms. We were sweating it a bit... with clear umbrellas purchased and an ever-changing timeline to accommodate whatever the sky may do, we were ready. But what really happened is not a crack of thunder or strike of lightning graced the sky. Instead we got a little sunshine and even a rainbow during the portraits we did during a break in the reception!

Oh and how could we NOT mention Opie! Taylor and Blade's dog stole my heart! He is the best behaved pupper EVER!!!!

Mount Vernon, Ohio / Columbus, Ohio Wedding Photographer || Northstar Golf Club: Matt & Melissa

I'm changing this week up a bit and letting Melissa tell all the details about her wedding day!

How did you meet?
I moved to Ohio sophomore year of high school. The lockers had been assigned to everyone freshman year in alphabetical order. Since I was new they just had to assign me to a locker that was empty. That locker happened to be right next to Matt's. Sometimes I think that was fate because if my locker had been alphabetical it wouldn't have been next to his. Almost like a sign that eventually we would share the same last name. We ended up becoming friends, found out our parents lived on the same street, ended up eventually car pooling to school together, and the rest is history.

About her dress and accessories:
I didn't find the dress, the dress found me. I tried it on at my first fitting and I really loved it but felt like it was too easy so I set up a second fitting. When I tried it on again I loved it again and it made my sister-in-law cry sooo that was a good sign. I liked other dresses too, but I just had a strange feeling about the dress I picked. I added a meadow green belt with another blinged out belt sewed on top. That was because Matt and I went to our senior prom together and we were both in green for that so it kind of brought a little bit of our history together into our present and future. I chose pearls because I think they are very elegant and classy. My mom wore pearls for her wedding, and I had pearls for our prom.

The Decor:
I chose to focus on roses as our main theme. Specifically pink roses because pink, green, and gray are light and bright and went really well with the beautiful scenery that NorthStar had to offer, as well as the bridal party colors. I chose roses because my middle name is rose and they have always been very important to me. Plus they are a beautiful elegant flower that symbolize romance.

What was your favorite moment during your wedding day?
There were many favorite moments I had. The daddy daughter dance, mine and Matt's first dance, seeing my grandma having fun and dancing, and our sibling dance. I think my favorite would be either saying our vows and the first kiss, or mine and Matt's first dance.
