ENV's Year in Review: (Some) Favorite Wedding Moments of 2021

What a year this has been for me, as I am sure you’ve felt the same way. Its funny how, as the cold sets in and the Christmas trees are constructed and then taken down how we always use this week as reflection. It’s a mile marker in life where we take out our pens, put them to paper and really look at our lives.

Luckily, I get to look at all the things I’ve done through the moments I have spent with you. As many of you know, I was on partial hiatus until September of this year. I didn’t know what to expect when I announced my return to full time but I just hoped that I would be able to continue what my heart has so deeply always wanted, just to be an artist.

So to celebrate YOU and this year for us, together, I wanted to share with you just SOME of my favorite wedding moments. I hope you smile at these shots and enjoy my recollection of these moments.

All the Effort

Dustin and his mom surprised everyone with a fun mother-son dance. While these are WILDLY popular, it was their effort that made it ABSOLUTELY memorable!

Fit for a Princess Bride….

Liz & Joel’s wedding day was FULL of sweet, personal moments but if you didn’t experience the ceremony first hand, you MISSED OUT! Liz’s father officiated and made sure to include props along with quoting The Princess Bride. Everyone’s sides hurt by the end of the ceremony AND it was perfectly tailored to who Joel and Liz are as a couple. So so funny!

Work From Wedding?

Sean knew his team would be having a work meeting at a certain time and after his first look with his now wife, Darrah, he logged in to say hello to them. He introduced her to the team and no doubt wanted to show off their dapper looks! His team was so excited to get a glimpse into his wedding day! I loved hearing all their excitement!

Crowd Pleaser

One of our favorite DJs, Tony at Hitman Entertainment, had the couple join in on a fun dance of just them, Sarah invited her grandma in to dance and then Grandma, Sarah and Chase got EVERYONE dancing, high fiving, and cheering on the bride and groom. I LIVE FOR fun moments like these. They are having the TIME of their lives.

A+ on the Assignment

This ring bearer was a little rockstar. He understood the assignment and did it with PERFECTION! You wouldn’t believe how hard I laughed when I turned to get Dustin’s expression of seeing his bride but was distracted by this little guy HAMMING IT UP for me to take a photo of him. (Don’t worry, I go the shot of Dustin too!)

Final Pages

I adored this moment of Sarah and Chase. This was the last dance of the evening before they departed and they headed into tomorrow. This is a visual of the last pages of this ‘Wedding’ chapter in their lives. From the moment a couple gets engaged, through the planning, engagement session, bridal shower, and then the big day…. these are the final moments of being in that ‘wedding’ chapter before they moved into that ‘Mr & Mrs.’ chapter. Sometimes couples spend 2-3 years of their lives in this season and then it suddenly ends. This captures those final minutes in this chapter for them.

Sparks of a Different Kind

So instead of doing a sparkler send off, Liz & Joel made their sparklers an activity rather than an exit (which I LOVE!) Not only did choosing to have sparkler fun give guests a break from dancing, it gave me a moment to capture candids like this. It was so fun to watch even the eldest of adults to the youngest of children play so wild and free with the sparklers. Just magical.
